The Stockman isn't just a bar - it's a rite of passage. Every University of Montana student ends up here at some point. It's where friendships are forged, relationships start (and end), and stories are made that you'll tell for years.
Thursday-Saturday, 10 PM - 2 AM. Arrive early or embrace the chaos.
Jukebox plays everything from country to 90s hip-hop. No judgment.
Chaotic, loud, sweaty, and somehow perfect. You'll understand when you're there.
The Stockman has been a Missoula institution for decades, surviving the ebb and flow of college generations. Originally a working-class bar serving the stockyards (hence the name), it evolved into the ultimate college dive when the University of Montana grew. The regulars changed, but the spirit stayed the same - unpretentious, loud, and always a good time.
It's dark, it's loud, and it's packed on weekends. Pool tables in the back, a long bar up front, and a jukebox that somehow always plays the right song at the right time. The crowd is a mix of college students, townies, and the occasional confused tourist. Don't expect table service or craft cocktails - this is a beer-and-shot kind of place.
